The Northeastern Phoenix metropolitan area has evolved into four regional communities:
These four communities are bounded by the Tonto National Forest on the north, 136th St on the east, The CAP (Central Arizona Project) Canal on the south and 24th St. on the west. The general life style of the northeast valley is definitely friendly, casual and upscale. Statistics show the median household income to be over $48,000 a year. Schools, both public and private, are some of the highest rated in the southwest. With an average daily temperature of 70.3 degrees F., an average 7.05 inches of rainfall per annum, an average humidity of less than 40%, 86% of the days being sunny, and the area's close proximity to Las Vegas, Southern California, and Mexico, it is easy to see why this is a very desirable place to live as well as work. Residential properties start in the low $100,000s for a small 1 bedroom condominium but rise to over $350,000 for an average 2500 sq. ft., 3 bedroom, 2 bath single family residence. Golf is a prime focus in the Phoenix/Scottsdale metro area with over 130 public and private courses available. Of these, the North Scottsdale area has over 18 of the most well designed and best maintained golf facilities in the valley. Golf properties in this area will start around $200,000, but the average sale price for most homes, as such, is over $500,000. Although golf is the predominant form of recreation, there are numerous other things to do like horseback riding, hiking, dirt biking, bike riding, jeep tours... the list goes on and on.
